Title: 1984
Author: George Orwell
Genre: Libertarian Science Fiction
Pages: 326
Thoughts: I am sure mostly everyone has heard about this book if not they really must read it. It is depressing in a way, but one of the most interesting books I have read. I will not go into many details on this because it is a well known book.

Title: Confessions of an Economic Hit Man
Author: John Pekins
Pages: 277
Thoughts: It was a very interesting book. I believe most of it and I think it is something which will greatly effect the U.S.A over the next 50 years. It is based on the new ways in which corporations and not governments wage imperialism. I read it because I was instructed by one of my professors that it would go along well with 1984, he was very right the parallels can be drawn and they make great counter works to each other. Unless you want to get political it is probably not a book you want to read.
Although John Perkins is writing a nonfiction work it really reads like a fictional story. He knows firsthand the role that corporations are playing in this new form of imperialism because he was one of the men who carried out this imperialism. If you interested in international politics I would suggest it.
